I wanted to take some time to introduce myself. I am thrilled to be starting my sixteenth year of teaching and my ninth year at EHS. After graduating from SIUE with my degree in English, I began my teaching career at Hazelwood East and Central High School. After a wonderful five years, I took an English position at Wentzville Timberland High School. In addition, I received my masters in Library Science from the University of Illinois. In 2006, we moved back to Edwardsville. Yes that’s right, back to Edwardsville. My husband and I both grew up here and graduated from EHS too long ago! Since moving back, we have built a home, changed jobs, and started a family. I have two children, Brayden (8) and Sloan (5). Brayden is excited about starting the 3rd grade and Sloan is crazy about starting kindergarten. We also have a Golden Retriever, Shakespeare, who is the size of a small horse.

 

When I do have some free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, listening to music, and anything outdoors. My favorite pastime is eating…no kidding. I am a food enthusiast! My family loves to try new restaurants, new recipes at home, and watching pretty much anything on the Food Network!

 

I am really looking forward to getting to know each and everyone of you in the upcoming school year. I know we will have a successful year together.
